The Subclass 820 is the temporary visa, which leads to the Subclass 801 permanent visa after eligibility requirements are met.
Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300): Often referred to as the fiancé(e) visa, this allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse. This visa is temporary and must lead to marriage within the visa’s 9-month validity period, after which you can apply for a Subclass 820/801 visa to stay in Australia.
